Enterprise customer service number: how we reached a person
Call 1 855 266 9565 for Enterprise customer service in the US. We reached a person after four spoken routing questions. Hear the call, what to have ready and when Enterprise directs you to the rental branch.
The Enterprise customer service number in the US is 1 855 266 9565. Enterprise lists it on its official contact page. We called on November 2, 2026, using call4me, and reached a person about 1 minute 24 seconds into the recording, after a voice menu asked four questions about our reason for calling.
We asked general questions for this guide about charges, deposits and extending a rental. We did not have a reservation or rental agreement, and no rental was booked, changed or extended. The representative answered the questions, but some of the answers were broader than Enterprise's published instructions. The distinctions below matter if you are dealing with your own rental.
Which Enterprise number should you call?
These are the US numbers on Enterprise's contact page when we checked on November 2:
| What you need | Official number |
|---|---|
| Customer service | 1 855 266 9565 |
| Car rental reservations | 1 855 266 9289 |
| Roadside assistance | 1 800 307 6666 |
| Enterprise Plus member services | 1 866 507 6222 |
| Assistance for customers with disabilities | 1 866 225 4284 |
We tested the customer service line. The other numbers come from the official directory, not calls we made. If you need your rental location, use the number on your rental contract or Enterprise's location directory linked from the contact page.
How we reached a person
The greeting asked us to have a rental agreement number ready and said the call could be recorded and analyzed. It offered Spanish by pressing 2. The English route then asked us to answer yes or no to four questions:
- Are you calling to reserve a vehicle?
- Would you like to update an existing reservation?
- Are you calling about Enterprise Plus membership?
- Are you in a rental vehicle and involved in an accident or experiencing mechanical issues?
Our caller answered no to each because this was a general inquiry. A survey notice followed, then the system routed us to a representative. We did not use a keypad shortcut to request a person.
Answer those questions for your actual situation. Our route does not establish what happens after a yes response or how long another department takes to answer.
Listen to the customer service call
This is our November 2 call, about 4 minutes 31 seconds. The public recording preserves the original timeline, with the representative's first name, an example ZIP code and the hypothetical branch location silenced. The representative used that hypothetical branch to answer the general questions; no customer record was supplied.
Approximate moments in the recording:
| Time | What happened |
|---|---|
| 0:31 | The first yes or no question, about reserving a vehicle |
| 0:37 | The menu asked about updating a reservation |
| 0:45 | It asked about Enterprise Plus membership |
| 0:54 | It asked about an accident or mechanical problem |
| 1:15 | The system announced the transfer |
| 1:24 | A representative answered |
| 3:40 | The representative answered the billing and deposit routing question |
| 3:54 | They explained what number to have ready and who could help with extensions |
| 4:18 | They gave the phone hours, without specifying days |
This was one call. The time to a person includes the menu and transfer; it is not an average wait or a prediction for your call.
The first live greeting, with the silenced name marked, was:
1:24 Representative: Thank you for calling Enterprise. [Name removed]. How can I help you today?
| Question we asked | What the representative said |
|---|---|
| Should customers contact the branch or central support about charges or a deposit after a rental? | The customer service line |
| What should they have ready? | The rental agreement number or reservation number |
| Who handles an extension to a current rental? | Customer service could help with extensions |
| What are this line's phone hours? | 8 am to 5 pm Central |
The call did not test a billing dispute, refund or extension. The representative did not specify which days the stated phone hours apply to.
Deposit or billing question: central support or the branch?
The representative directed our general question to central customer service. Enterprise's deposit refund FAQ gives more specific instructions for a real refund or charge:
- Credit card: Enterprise says it releases the authorization when the vehicle is returned and charges the final rental amount.
- Debit card: The FAQ says the refund usually appears within 5 to 10 business days, depending on the bank. If it has not appeared after 10 business days, it directs you to the branch where you rented.
- A refund smaller than expected: Check the rental receipt, then contact the renting branch with questions about the charges.
For those cases, start with the branch named in the FAQ. You can also ask central customer service which team handles your issue. Our general call did not establish that central support can issue every refund or resolve every charge.
Have the rental agreement or reservation number, the receipt and a clear description of the charge or missing refund. State whether the vehicle has already been returned. The representative asked us whether the question concerned a past rental, an upcoming rental or general information.
Who can extend an Enterprise rental?
The person we reached said customer service could help. Enterprise's US extension FAQ separates the route by rental location:
- Airport rental: The FAQ directs customers to Enterprise's contact page for help.
- Rental from a branch outside an airport: Contact the renting location directly. Enterprise says its number is at the top of the rental contract.
The FAQ says extensions require a phone call, may change the rate and require an additional card authorization. Ask for the new return date, total and authorization amount before agreeing. Our recording provides no evidence that a particular extension would be available or that the original rate would continue.
What are Enterprise customer service hours?
In our call, the representative checked and said 8 am to 5 pm Central. We did not get the days of operation, so that answer is incomplete.
Enterprise's contact page separately lists chat hours as Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm Central, closed weekends and holidays. It does not label those as phone hours. We would not treat that chat schedule as confirmation of the phone line's full weekly schedule.
Our call reached staff on a Monday morning. It does not verify evening, weekend or holiday phone availability.
Have your assistant ask about your rental
Connect your assistant using the call4me installation guide, then give it the issue and the limits of what it may do:
Help me contact Enterprise about my rental. Ask what I need resolved, whether I have already picked up or returned the vehicle, and which location handled it. Use Enterprise's current official instructions to choose central customer service or my rental branch. Ask for my rental agreement or reservation number if needed. Bring back the answer and any next step. If Enterprise needs the renter to verify the account, ask me to join. Do not extend the rental, change the return location, accept a charge or make a new reservation without my approval.
