call4me: your AI agent makes phone calls for you

your coding agent (claude code, codex, claude desktop, chatgpt) gets one new tool: make a phone call. it calls the restaurant, the doctor's office, the airline, the hotel, sounds like a normal person, gets it done, and tells your agent what happened.

how it works

load credits (from $10.00, reloads monthly unless you untick it). calls cost $0.25/min of talk time, held up front and settled when the call ends.
you get a key and one prompt. paste the prompt into your agent. it installs call4me itself.

hear the agent on real calls

short, casual turns. no "certainly!", no support-bot voice.
no recap at the end. it says "perfect, thanks!" and hangs up. your agent gets the recap.
asks your agent mid-call when the business needs something it wasn't given.
it doesn't announce itself. if someone sincerely asks whether it's an AI, it says yes and carries on. see rules.

Set up call4me so you can make phone calls for me (book restaurants, doctor's appointments, call businesses for info).

1. Add the call4me MCP server and sign me in. Use whichever matches you:
   - Claude Code:  claude mcp add --scope user --transport http call4me https://call4.me/mcp  (then I run /mcp, pick call4me, and choose authenticate)
   - Codex:        codex mcp add call4me --url https://call4.me/mcp  then  codex mcp login call4me
   - Claude Desktop, claude.ai, or ChatGPT: add a custom connector with the URL https://call4.me/mcp and sign in when it asks.
   I sign in with Google or X. If I have no credits yet, I load some at https://call4.me (from $10).

2. Restart or reload MCP servers if needed, then call call4me_get_balance to check it works. Show me my assigned call4me numbers from the returned numbers list, with their countries, and suggest saving them as a contact named call4me. These are the numbers call4me calls from, separate from my own phone saved in my calling profile. If phone_number is null and the numbers list is empty, explain that my free US number is assigned on my first call and you'll show it to me then. Don't invent a number or claim one has already been assigned. Explain that call4me may ring my saved phone when a business needs me to verify my identity. I answer and press 1 to join; pressing * or hanging up hands the call back to the caller.

3. Set up my calling profile now, so calls never stall on missing details: call call4me_get_profile, then ask me in ONE message for whatever is missing (full legal name as on my ID, date of birth, phone, email, home address, health insurance carrier + member ID + group number or self-pay, dental insurance, my car's year/make/model/mileage/VIN if I have one, frequent flyer numbers and status, and TSA PreCheck/Global Entry Known Traveler Number). Never ask for or save my Social Security number, card numbers, or passwords. Save my answers with call4me_save_profile. Skip anything I decline.

4. From now on, when I ask you to call somewhere:
   - Pick the category and call call4me_get_requirements. Ask me for every required detail you don't already have in one message before dialing (reason for the visit, new or existing patient, which days/times work, party size...). The caller can only say what you give it.
   - Find the number (web search if needed) and make sure it's the right location.
   - Before placing a call with connect_when, give me a heads up that my phone may ring and show the actual call4me number that will ring me. Use the assigned number selected for this call, which can differ by country. If this is my first call and no number is assigned yet, explain that before dialing and show the exact returned calling_number as soon as call4me_place_call returns.
   - Place the call with call4me_place_call. On my first call, or whenever its returned calling_number differs from the one you've already shown me, show me that exact number and suggest saving it as a call4me contact. Then keep calling call4me_get_call until it finishes. If the caller asks a question mid-call, answer it quickly with call4me_answer_question; the business is waiting on the line.
   - Before using call4me_connect_me, give me a heads up with that call's actual calling_number from call4me_get_call. Remind me to answer and press 1 to join, then press * or hang up to hand the call back. Don't use my saved profile phone as the caller number.
   - Tell me the result in one or two lines.

faq

which countries can it call?

every account can call businesses in the us, canada, and europe. european calls go out from your european call4me number if you have one, otherwise from your us number. anywhere else, buy a call4me number in that country and calls there go out from it. a local number also means the business sees a familiar number and can call you back cheaply. numbers you can buy today: united states, canada, puerto rico. waiting on regulator approval, usually a few days: united kingdom, netherlands, mexico, denmark, iceland, lithuania, cyprus, ukraine, israel, south africa, kenya, ghana, philippines, chile, colombia, panama, bolivia, nicaragua. calls abroad cost the same $0.25/min as calls at home.

what does it cost?

$0.25 per minute of talk time, prepaid, from $10.00. each call holds its maximum cost up front and gives back what it didn't use when it ends. unanswered, busy, and failed calls are free.

do i need my own phone number?

no. your first call assigns you a free us number. calls use one of your own call4me numbers, depending on the country you're calling. when a business calls that number back, call4me answers, finishes the task if it was left open, or takes a message for your agent.

how do extra numbers work?

ask your agent (call4me_buy_number) or use my account. a number costs exactly what our phone carrier charges us, no markup: its upfront cost plus the first month when you buy it, then the monthly cost every 30 days from your credits. your account page shows each country's price. if your credits can't cover a renewal, the number is released after 7 days. you can release a number anytime.

which agents does it work with?

can i jump on the call myself?

yes. tell your agent to connect you "as soon as a person picks up" to skip the hold music, or ask during the call. call4me may also ring you if the business needs you to verify your account. your agent should tell you what number to expect. answer and press 1 to join (so your voicemail never ends up on it); press * or hang up to hand it back.

will they know it's an AI?

it doesn't announce itself and it sounds like a normal person calling for you. if someone sincerely asks, it says yes and carries on. it never pretends to be you. see rules.

who can it call?

businesses and services you want to reach. no telemarketing, no surveys, no calling people who don't expect it, no emergency or premium-rate numbers.
