Joe needed dress shoes before a gala
Six calls to three DC stores ended with black Stacy Adams loafers set aside at Men's Wearhouse for pickup that day.
“this thing saved so much time.”
Joe's dress shoe broke on the morning of a 5 pm gala in Washington, DC. He needed a replacement he could pick up that day: plain black dress shoes in a size 10 or 10.5, with no sneakers or white soles.
On October 1, 2026, his assistant used call4me to call two Nordstrom Rack stores and a Men's Wearhouse. The search took six calls. By 10:55 am Eastern, Men's Wearhouse on Connecticut Avenue had black Stacy Adams loafers in a size 10.5 set aside for Joe.
From a stock check to a hold
The Nordstrom Rack calls did not identify a specific pair. At Men's Wearhouse, an associate found the loafers and checked the size. After Joe approved a hold, the assistant called back to arrange pickup.
That final call reached an associate through the phone menu. The assistant named the brand, color and size. The associate checked the style by asking about its silver buckle, then went to find the shoes.
Associate: “Okay, I got 'em, ten and a half.”
The assistant asked for the pair to be set aside for pickup before five.
Associate: “Cool, will do.”
The assistant also asked how long the hold would last. Staff said the store closed at seven and that held items were usually put back at the end of the day.

What worked, and what remained
The result was a confirmed hold, with payment left for Joe in the store. The calls do not establish that he collected or bought the shoes. An offered discount required signup in the store, and the final total was not confirmed.
The search also included failures. On an early call, our caller stopped hearing the line. A later attempt hit a transfer error. The full story preserves those attempts alongside the successful call.
For your own search, connect call4me, specify the item and pickup deadline, and ask your assistant to confirm the exact size, total price and hold expiry. Give it clear permission before it reserves or buys anything.
