An AI app that calls businesses for you
yes: call4me is an AI that calls businesses for you. ask ChatGPT, Claude or Codex to call a restaurant, a doctor's office, a repair shop or a customer service line, and call4me dials it, gets through the phone menu and the hold, talks to whoever answers, and brings back what they said with a transcript. if they want you on the line, it rings your phone. calls cost $0.25/min from pickup and half that on hold, and unanswered calls are free.
there is no separate call4me phone app. in ChatGPT it is a plugin you install and sign in to, and in Claude, Codex and other assistants it connects over MCP. so the assistant you already ask for help looks up the business, places the call, and answers the caller's questions while the call is still going.
the calls are real and published: below are recorded calls that booked a dinner table, moved a dentist appointment, got a junk removal quote and booked the pickup, and took a Spectrum internet bill from $85 to $55 a month for a year. we have also called the customer service lines of 81 companies and published the recordings.
How the call works
- tell your assistant what you need in plain words, like "move my thursday 3:30 dentist appointment to friday after 3."
- call4me checks it has everything that kind of call needs, and your assistant asks you for anything missing in one message.
- it calls the business from your call4me number, gets through the phone menu and the hold, and talks to whoever answers.
- if the business asks something only you know, the question comes back to your assistant mid-call. if they want the account holder, your phone rings and you join.
- you get the outcome and the full transcript, and the recording is in your account.
if you hate calling businesses, this is the part you hand off: the menu, the hold and the conversation. you can still listen in without anyone hearing you, and press 1 anytime to take over.
the caller calls for you and never claims to be you, and it never reads out card numbers, bank details or passwords. it makes the calls a person would make for their own errands: bookings, appointments, quotes and questions for a business, not sales or telemarketing.
calls go out from a free US number, assigned on your first call, to businesses in the US, Canada, Europe, the UAE and Japan.
Other apps that call businesses for you
- Gemini Call for Me: Google's Gemini app can get business hours, product availability and quotes, book or manage appointments and reservations, and navigate phone menus and wait on hold. it needs a Pixel 11 with a US SIM card, a Google AI subscription, the Phone by Google public beta and English as the device language. it calls US numbers only, from your own phone number, and you can follow a live transcript or live audio and take over. Google is rolling it out gradually.
- Google Search calling: AI Mode calls businesses for information they don't list online, like the earliest appointment or what is in stock, and only for what you asked. it is available in English to signed-in users over 18, and call results can take up to 30 minutes, in your AI Mode history or by email.
- Callio: an iPhone and Android app that calls US businesses you pick, often shared from Google Maps, for reservations, availability, hours and prices. you approve what it will ask, and the answer comes back with a transcript afterward.
if you have a Pixel 11 and a Google AI subscription and the call is to a US business, try Gemini first. call4me fits when you already use ChatGPT, Claude or Codex, want to call from any phone or computer, want to join or listen live, or need to call outside the US. more apps that call for you, compared from their own pages, are in AI apps that make phone calls for you.
Real calls call4me made
recorded calls, each with what was asked, what happened and a transcript:
- book a table for two (TAO Los Angeles): the restaurant confirmed a reservation for two at 8 pm.
- reschedule a dentist appointment (a dental office): the office moved the appointment to monday at noon with the same dentist, and confirmed it on the call.
- get a junk removal quote and book the pickup (A1 Hauling, San Francisco): the hauler quoted about $140 and booked the pickup for 11 am the next day. it read the street number back wrong, and the agent agreed by mistake. a second call fixed the address.
- get a wheel alignment quote without waiting on hold (Wheel Works, Franklin Street, San Francisco): after waiting on hold, the agent got a $129.99 starting quote for standard alignment and about $210 for the lifetime option. staff said they check the suspension, accept walk ins and usually need one to two hours. this was a general quote, with no vehicle specified or service booked. taxes and extra repairs were not priced. the written standard warranty is limited to 12 months or 12,000 miles.
- call spectrum retention to lower an internet bill (Spectrum): saying 'cancel' and then 'disconnect' reached a customer solutions rep after about 5 minutes on hold. he wouldn't change the account for an assistant, so the caller patched in the user, who got $55 a month for a year instead of $85. that part of the call is not published.
- transfer a prescription to another pharmacy (Amazon Pharmacy): the phone menu said it doesn't process transfer-out requests and routed the call to a representative, who transferred the prescription out to the walgreens and canceled the pending amazon fill. no confirmation number was given.

- How Rick booked dinner with one prompt: Rick Manelius's assistant used call4me to call Farmer's Grain, and staff confirmed a table for two on Saturday, October 3 at 5 pm. the call record shows 56 billed seconds and a charge of 25 cents. Rick on X: "Booked a dinner reservation in one prompt. Only cost me 25 cents."
- Rescheduling a dentist appointment: a call4me user's assistant asked to move a Thursday 3:30 appointment to "Friday after three or anytime Monday" and got Monday, October 5 at noon with the same dentist, in a call under two minutes.
- Dog teeth cleaning quotes from three vets: an assistant asked three Houston area clinics the same questions, and the quotes ran from $250 to $755 before extras, with bloodwork and X rays included at one clinic and not at the others.
- A $100 JSX voucher by phone: Grok Bot and call4me called JSX Reservations about a delayed flight and got Jem a $100 courtesy travel voucher, valid for one year. Jem on X: "literally zero chance i was going to do that myself"
- Phone anxiety: what actually helps: in a 2025 Research Co. poll of 1,000 US adults, 50% said they feel anxious calling someone they don't know. the guide covers which calls are worth practicing and which to hand off.
