Booking.com customer service number: reach a live person 24/7
We called the number Booking.com's own Help Center shows to US visitors, with general questions for this guide. There's no phone menu, just a queue, and a live agent picked up 4 minutes 10 seconds in. Here's what the agent said about hours, property cancellations, refunds and callbacks, and the full recording.
The short answer: the Booking.com customer service number its own Help Center shows to visitors from the US is +44 20 3320 2624. It's a London number, so from the US you dial 011 44 20 3320 2624, and international call rates may apply. Booking.com's customer service page says "For anything urgent, you can call us 24/7 at a local or international phone number," and the agent we reached confirmed: "We are open 24/7." There's no phone menu. You go straight into a queue, and a live agent answered 4 minutes 10 seconds after the line picked up.
Booking.com doesn't print one phone number across its site. Its Help Center's "Speak to someone" page, opened from the US without signing in on October 29, 2026, listed one number: "Customer Service (English) +44 20 3320 2624." The page says it's for people who "don't have an account or booking," and adds: "For faster support or different languages, sign in with your booking details." So if you have a booking, sign in at booking.com/help or open the app first; it may show you a different number. We had no booking, so this is the number we called. When we asked the agent whether there's a US or toll free number people should call instead, they said "this is the only contact number that we have so they can reach us."
Watch out for fake numbers. Search results for "Booking.com phone number" are full of US toll free numbers on PDFs and directory pages, and we found none of them on booking.com. Booking.com's own scam guide warns that "Scammers sometimes phone, text, or message pretending to be customer service agents," and says to find contact details "directly on our official site."
What the agent told us:
- Phone support is 24/7. "We are open 24/7."
- Have your confirmation number and PIN ready. Both are in the top section of your confirmation email, the recording says. The first thing the agent asked was whether we were the property or "the guest who made the reservation."
- If a property cancels on you, Booking.com can move you. "We are going to relocate the guest into an alternative property and we can refund the price difference of the alternative property and the original property."
- Refunds take 7 to 12 days if Booking.com took the payment, and 15 business days if the property took it. "The refund will take usually 7 to 12 days if the payment facilitated is Booking.com. However, if the payment facilitated for that is the accommodation, the time frame for the refund is 15 business days."
- No callbacks on request. If your call drops while they're working on your case, "we can call the guest directly." But if you ask them to call you back later, "we are not able to call them back since we are taking calls real time."
We called on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at about 11:49 am Pacific, with call4me asking the questions. This page is what we heard.
Listen to the call
The whole call, 6 minutes 54 seconds. Two short silences cover the agent's first name and my name. Nothing else is muted or cut.
The long quiet stretches between the recorded messages are the hold.
Jump to a moment:
- 0:00 "Thank you for calling Booking.com," then a pitch to do it online instead
- 0:17 "Your call may be recorded for training purposes"
- 0:21 "Please keep your reservation number and PIN handy. It's in the top section of your confirmation email"
- 0:27 "We'll assist you as soon as a customer service representative becomes available"
- 0:32 "The current average waiting time is less than five minutes"
- 1:59 "To keep waiting, please continue to hold. You can also visit Booking.com slash help to use live chat or send us a message"
- 3:32 The same hold message again
- 4:10 A live agent answers
- 4:19 "May you kindly confirm if you are from the property or if you are the guest who made the reservation?"
- 4:54 What to have ready: "a confirmation number and PIN"
- 5:11 "We are open 24/7," and "this is the only contact number that we have"
- 5:30 If a property cancels: "relocate the guest into an alternative property"
- 6:00 Refunds: 7 to 12 days, or 15 business days
- 6:27 Callbacks: only if the call drops while they're on your case
- 6:51 "You're very much welcome"
What happens when you call Booking.com
- Call +44 20 3320 2624 (from the US, 011 44 20 3320 2624). A recording says "Thank you for calling Booking.com" and suggests you sign in online "to add, change, or even cancel your booking."
- A recording notice. "Your call may be recorded for training purposes."
- "Please keep your reservation number and PIN handy. It's in the top section of your confirmation email."
- You're put in the queue. "We'll assist you as soon as a customer service representative becomes available. The current average waiting time is less than five minutes." There are no options to press.
- Hold. About every 90 seconds a message repeats: "To keep waiting, please continue to hold. You can also visit Booking.com slash help to use live chat or send us a message."
- An agent answers. On our call, 4 minutes 10 seconds after the line picked up. They ask whether you're the property or the guest.
What to have ready
- Your confirmation number and PIN. The recording asks for them before you reach anyone, and the agent named them when we asked what to have ready.
- Your confirmation email. Both numbers are "in the top section" of it.
- Whether you're the guest who made the reservation. It's the agent's first question.
If the property cancels or won't honor your booking
The agent said Booking.com will "relocate the guest into an alternative property" and refund "the price difference of the alternative property and the original property." Have your confirmation number and PIN ready when you call.
How refunds work, per the agent
- If Booking.com took your payment: "usually 7 to 12 days."
- If the property took your payment: "15 business days."
We didn't ask how to check a refund's status.
How we made this recording
call4me is a phone for your AI agent: your agent (Claude Code, Codex, ChatGPT) tells it what to get done and it makes the call. For this one, the brief was to reach a live agent at Booking.com as a general inquiry for this guide, with no booking and no account, and ask about hours, a US number, what to have ready, property cancellations, refunds and callbacks. It was told never to claim a reservation or give any number.
Our caller made one slip. Its question about the fastest way to reach a live agent was folded into the question about what to have ready, and the agent answered only the second part. We kept the audio as it happened, apart from the two muted names.
We've called plenty of other companies the same way, including Expedia and Airbnb. If you'd rather not sit in a queue yourself, see how call4me can call customer service or hold for you.
Have your agent make this call
If you use call4me, paste this into your agent:
Call Booking.com customer service at +44 20 3320 2624. There's no menu; wait on hold for an agent. Tell them I'm the guest who made the reservation, and give my confirmation number, [confirmation number], and PIN, [PIN], if they ask. My booking at [property] for [dates] has [your problem]. Ask what Booking.com can do and how long it will take. Don't cancel or change anything without asking me.

4:10 Agent: Hi, thank you for waiting on the line. I really do appreciate your patience and understanding while waiting on the queue. My name is [name removed]. Thank you for calling Booking.com. To move forward, may you kindly confirm if you are from the property or if you are the guest who made the reservation?
4:26 Caller: Neither, actually. I'm with [name removed]. We're just trying to get general info for a consumer guide. Would you be able to help with a couple quick questions about your phone support?
4:37 Agent: Mm-hmm.
4:42 Caller: Great. So for someone who does have a booking, what's the fastest way to reach a live agent by phone? And do you need anything ready, like a confirmation number or PIN?
4:54 Agent: Yes, we have a confirmation number and PIN.
4:59 Caller: Okay. And are your phone lines open 24/7? And is there a US or toll free number people should call instead of this one?
5:08 Agent: Yeah. We have, yeah. We are open 24/7. And yes, this is the only contact number that we have so they can reach us.
5:20 Caller: Good to know, thank you. And if a property cancels or won't honor a reservation at check-in, what should a customer do and what does Booking.com do?
5:30 Agent: So, if the property cancels the reservation, we can relocate the guest into a different property. Since the property is not able to accommodate the guest, we are going to relocate the guest into an alternative property and we can refund the price difference of the alternative property and the original property.
5:52 Caller: Hmm, okay, that makes sense. And how about refunds in general? How long do they usually take?
6:00 Agent: So, yeah, the refund will take usually 7 to 12 days if the payment facilitated is Booking.com. However, if the payment facilitated for that is the accommodation, the time frame for the refund is 15 business days.
6:16 Caller: Thanks. And one other thing. Can Booking.com call a customer back instead of having them hold on the line?
6:27 Agent: Regarding that one, if we are currently working on a case, if the call got disconnected, we can call the guest directly. However, if the guest requested to be called after one hour like that, we are not able to contact them. We are not able to call them back since we are taking calls real time.
6:46 Caller: Gotcha. That really helps. Thank you so much. Bye.
6:51 Agent: You're very much welcome.
