Hijinx Hotel Irvine: changing a booking for adults and kids

A real call to Irvine Spectrum clarified a family booking, the evening age cutoff and how eight players would split across challenge rooms.

Hijinx Hotel Irvine is at Irvine Spectrum, 517 Spectrum Center Drive, Irvine, California. If an existing challenge room booking has the wrong mix of adults and children, call the venue with the booking reference and ask staff to check the exact session before changing it. The official location page describes teams of two to six players and recommends booking ahead.

On October 10, 2026, a call4me customer's assistant called about that evening's 7:30 PM session. The booking listed eight adults. The actual group was four adults and four children. Staff found the booking, agreed that it could be adjusted, and said they would email confirmation after the change.

The conversation also answered two practical questions: whether the children could attend that session, and how eight people would play when a room takes at most six. The email itself was not verified, and the call does not show the group attending.

Hijinx Hotel Irvine, a booking change for four adults and four kids

What the Irvine call established

Question Answer in the October 10 call
Requested change Eight adults to four adults and four children
Session 7:30 to 8:00 PM that evening
Children admitted? Staff said yes for that session, with responsible adult supervision
Evening cutoff Staff said guests under 21 were not allowed after 9:00 PM
Group of eight Staff suggested two groups of four, doing the same set but not occupying the same challenge room
Safety paperwork Staff said participants needed the safety waiver
Confirmation An email was promised after the adjustment; receipt was not checked

The customer's brief mentioned an 8:00 PM cutoff. The employee instead stated 9:00 PM. When checked on October 11, the published house rules also required guests entering from 9:00 PM to be over 21. The useful result was a specific answer about the booked session, not an assumption based on the original brief. Check the current rules and your own session directly before buying tickets for children.

AI agent: Hi Jules. I'm [customer name and adjacent part of assistant muted] calling about a booking for [customer name muted] tonight, seven thirty. Uh, can we fix the headcount from eight adults to four adults and four kids?

Representative: Let me just check, okay? Could you please confirm the full name under the booking

AI agent: [customer name and spelling muted]

Representative: All right, let me just check, hold on

AI agent: Sure, no problem.

Representative: Thank you Let me just check. And, what is the last name please

AI agent: [customer surname and spelling muted]

Representative: Alright. Thank you. So, let me just pull up their booking. And can you please confirm the last four digits of the booking reference number, or if you don't have it, could you please confirm the full phone number and email address that they used

AI agent: Sure, booking ref [booking reference muted; overlapping staff interjection also muted].

Representative: [Unclear interjection] Alright. Thank you so much for that. So I’m just currently pulling up the booking. Hold on. All right. So I do see here that they’re booked for one set of challenge rooms for eight adults. That starts at seven thirty pm. And you mentioned you just want to modify this into four adults and four under twenty ones, is that correct?

AI agent: Right! Four adults and four under, twenty, ones, ages nine, twelve, thirteen and fifteen. And just wanting to be sure they're all fine for the seven thirty to eight session with your under twenty, one policy.

Representative: So yeah, they're actually all right, since

AI agent: Mm.

Representative: um this is before nine pm. However, they just need to be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult at all

AI agent: Perfect.

Representative: times Let, let me just check the rooms. Hold on

AI agent: Sure.

Representative: All right. So yeah, um, it's definitely possible to modify this booking. I'll be sending you an email confirmation right after the adjustment, and as well, um, please let them sign the safety waiver as they will need it to participate in the activities

AI agent: Okay.

Representative: . And then again, with our curfew time, we don't allow under twenty ones after nine pm. Is there anything else I can help with

AI agent: Oh, just real quick: With eight total players and a max

Representative: Yeah

AI agent: six per room, how would the split work?

Representative: Mm, hmm. Yeah, so, um, it could be like four like two groups, like each has um, four people. So they'll still be doing the same set, but they won't be in the same challenge rooms

AI agent: Gotcha. That's all I needed. Thank you so much. Bye. [Brief unclear closing overlap]

Representative: Alright. Thank you as well. [Unclear final farewell]

What to have ready before calling Hijinx Hotel

Have the booking name, reference, date and start time available privately. Explain what is wrong with the existing booking and the replacement headcount. For a mixed age group, give the children's ages and ask whether the restriction applies to arrival, the activity or remaining at the venue afterward.

For a group larger than one room, ask how staff will divide the players and whether the groups still do the same activity set. On this call, staff suggested two groups of four as a way to split the party. That answer does not guarantee another time slot or a particular allocation on a different booking.

No additional payment or price adjustment was settled in this conversation. If changing ticket categories could affect the amount paid, ask staff to explain that before authorizing a charge.

Ask your assistant to handle the call

If you already use Claude Code or Codex, connect call4me through the Claude Code setup or Codex setup. The prompt below is a suggested workflow, not evidence that this customer used either client.

Call Hijinx Hotel at Irvine Spectrum about my existing booking on [date] at [time]. The booking lists [current headcount], but it should be [adults and children, with ages]. Use the booking details I provide privately. Ask staff to correct the categories, confirm the age policy for the whole visit, explain how our group will split across rooms, and send written confirmation. Ask me before agreeing to any new charge. Report what staff confirmed and whether the email has actually arrived.
