Roku customer service number: reaching a live person, and avoiding fake Roku numbers
We called the US support number on Roku's own website with general questions for this guide. A live agent answered 1 minute 25 seconds in. Here's the phone menu, what he said about hours, activation fees and cancelling subscriptions, and the full 6 minute recording.
The short answer: Roku's US customer service number is 816-272-8106. It's the only US number on Roku's own website: the contact data built into support.roku.com lists "+1-816-272-8106" as US technical support, in English and Spanish. It's a regular 816 number, not a toll-free 800 number. Roku's help articles don't print a phone number on the page; they point you to chat ("Get help from our support bot or connect to an advisor"). The agent we reached said phone support is open 8 am to 10 pm Eastern, and it's not 24/7.
A live Roku agent answered 1 minute 25 seconds into our call. We pressed 4 ("purchases or products on roku.com and all other questions") at the end of the menu. The first press came as the menu finished and didn't register, so the menu played again; the second time, it said "An agent will be with you shortly", and a person picked up 7 seconds later. There was no voice assistant and no account prompt on our call.
Roku never charges to activate a device. Roku's scam warning page says "Roku has never charged money to activate a device" and "Creating a Roku account is 100% free." The agent said the same thing: "No, it's free, okay? Roku is free." If a website or a "Roku" number asks you to pay for activation, setup or support, it's a scam. More on that below.
Is this the real Roku number? Yes: it's the number on Roku's own support site, and we called it on October 29, 2026 and reached a live Roku support agent. Also written (816) 272-8106 or +1 816 272 8106.
What the agent told us:
- Hours are 8 am to 10 pm Eastern. "It's not 24/7. It's like 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Eastern Time." We didn't ask which days.
- This number is how you reach a person. "The number you just dialed is the number you dial if you want to speak to a live person."
- No fee to activate or set up an account. "You do not pay any service charge or anything. You only pay if you have a subscription that you subscribe to."
- Have your Roku account email ready. That's what he said they use to find you: accounts are "registered or signed in using an email address."
- Roku can cancel most subscriptions it bills over the phone. "You call us. Let us know what subscription you would like to get canceled, then we'll cancel the subscription for you."
- But not Hulu or Disney+. "Roku doesn't have the options to cancel. We just, like, kind of bill them, but we don't have the option of canceling or refunding." Contact those services directly.
- Roku doesn't normally call you. "No, no, we don't." He said they only call "if there's, like, a technical issue or a billing issue, and the customer needs to be informed."
We called on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at 2:47 pm Eastern, with call4me asking the questions. This page is what we heard.
Listen to the call
The whole call, 5 minutes 46 seconds. One short silence covers the agent's first name. Nothing else is muted or cut, and our caller didn't say my name or any number.
Key presses don't show up in the recording. Our call logs show our caller pressed 4 at about 0:39, right as the first menu finished, and the system answered "I didn't detect a selection" a second later. It pressed 4 again at about 1:17, at the end of the second menu, and "An agent will be with you shortly" followed. It also pressed 2 at about 1:21, during the wait, with no prompt; the agent picked up a few seconds after that.
Jump to a moment:
- 0:00 "Hi. You've reached Roku customer support"
- 0:13 The menu: press 1 for devices, 2 for subscriptions, billing or your account, 3 for Smart Home, 4 for everything else
- 0:39 Our caller presses 4 as the menu ends
- 0:40 "I'm sorry, I didn't detect a selection", and the menu again
- 1:17 Our caller presses 4 again
- 1:18 "An agent will be with you shortly"
- 1:25 A live agent: "Thank you for calling Roku"
- 1:31 We ask about hours
- 1:43 "It's not 24/7. It's like 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Eastern Time"
- 1:54 We ask the fastest way to reach a person
- 2:09 "The number you just dialed is the number you dial"
- 2:17 We ask whether Roku charges to activate a device
- 2:24 "No, it's free"
- 3:24 We ask what to have ready
- 3:35 "The email"
- 4:08 We ask how to cancel a subscription billed through Roku
- 4:17 "You call us. Let us know what subscription you would like to get canceled"
- 4:32 Except Hulu and Disney+: "we just, like, kind of bill them"
- 5:12 We ask whether Roku ever calls customers
- 5:19 "No, no, we don't"
The Roku customer service phone tree, step by step
This is the menu as it played on October 29, 2026, calling 816-272-8106.
- Call 816-272-8106. "Hi. You've reached Roku customer support. You can find many answers on support.roku.com. If you still have questions, we can help connect you to the right person."
- The menu:
- Press 1 for help with your streaming device, audio device, Roku TV, or Hiro TV.
- Press 2 for help with subscriptions, billing, or your Roku account.
- Press 3 for help with Roku Smart Home products and services.
- Press 4 for questions about purchases or products on roku.com, and all other questions.
- Press # to hear the options again.
- We pressed 4. Our first press came just as the menu finished, and it said "I'm sorry. I didn't detect a selection. Please choose an option." The same menu played a second time, and at its end we pressed 4 again.
- "An agent will be with you shortly." About 7 seconds later: "Thank you for calling Roku. My name is [name removed]. How can I help you?" That was 1 minute 25 seconds into the call.
We only tried option 4, so we can't tell you whether another option gets you to a person faster. If you're calling about a charge or a subscription, option 2 is the one the menu names for that, and option 1 is for device problems. Press your choice while the menu is still playing or right after it: a press at the very end didn't register for us.
If you have a Roku TV made by another company (TCL, Hisense, onn. and others), Roku's Roku TV support page says to contact that manufacturer for help. Roku handles its own TVs (Roku Select, Plus and Pro Series, and Hiro).
Roku never charges to activate: how to spot a fake Roku number
Searches like "Roku customer service number" are full of numbers that aren't Roku's. Roku's own scam warning page says scammers build fake sites that "give you a fake support phone number to call," and that these sites "may even show up at the top of search results because scammers pay for ads." What it says to watch for:
- Activation fees. "Roku has never charged money to activate a device. If a site says your code failed and asks for payment, it's a scam."
- Account fees. "Creating a Roku account is 100% free. If someone tries to charge you for this, hang up."
- Paid setup help or "support plans". Roku offers free setup help, and it calls monthly or yearly tech support plans fake.
- Activating your TV with their account, then demanding money to "unlock" it.
- Remote access. "Never let anyone connect to your computer or install software."
- Personal details. "Roku support will never ask for your Social Security number, passwords, or to install software on your computer."
Roku's page says real Roku sites "always end in roku.com", such as support.roku.com and my.roku.com. The only US phone number we found on Roku's site is 816-272-8106. If you're handed a different "Roku" number, especially alongside a fee, don't call it.
And if "Roku" calls you out of the blue, be careful: the agent told us Roku doesn't normally call customers, only "if there's, like, a technical issue or a billing issue."
What to have ready
- The email on your Roku account. That's what the agent said they use to look you up.
- Which subscription you want cancelled, if that's why you're calling.
- Your TV's model number, if it's a Roku TV. Roku's help page says it's on the back panel, or under Settings > System > About.
We suggested the serial number when we asked; the agent only named the email.
Cancelling a subscription billed through Roku
You can do it by phone or yourself. The agent said Roku will cancel subscriptions it bills for you over the phone, with two exceptions he named, Hulu and Disney+, which "has the option to cancel" themselves.
Roku's manage or cancel subscriptions page gives the self-serve routes:
- On the web: go to my.roku.com/subscriptions, choose the subscription, select Manage subscription, then Turn off auto-renew.
- On your Roku device: press Home, highlight the app, press the Star button on your remote, select Manage subscription, then Turn off auto-renew.
- You keep access until the end of the billing period after you cancel.
- Disney+, Hulu and Sling TV: contact them directly "even if Roku is billing you". Roku lists Disney+ at 888-905-7888, Hulu at 877-824-4858 and Sling TV at 888-394-6698. We've called Hulu: see our Hulu customer service guide.
Roku's refund policy says content and subscriptions bought directly through Roku are "pre-paid, final, and non-refundable," with no refunds for partial terms. Free trials have to be cancelled before they end. For more on cancelling by phone, see cancel a subscription.
How we made this recording
call4me is a phone for your AI agent: your agent (Claude Code, Codex, ChatGPT) tells it what to get done and it makes the call. For this one, the brief was to reach a live Roku support agent with general questions for this guide, with no account or device to give, and to note every menu prompt on the way.
A few things to know about our side of the call:
- Our caller made a couple of small sounds during the menu ("Huh", "Hmm"), and its first press of 4 came as the menu ended and didn't register.
- It pressed 2 while we waited for the agent, with no prompt asking for it. Nothing in the recording shows that it changed anything.
- It suggested an answer. When it asked what to have ready, our caller offered "the serial number or Roku account email." The agent picked the email.
- The agent asked whether we had an account or a TV to activate. We said no and kept to general questions.
- The agent asked who he was speaking with after our caller said goodbye. Our caller had already ended the call.
- We didn't ask which days the hours apply to, or whether the phone line handles every issue.
We kept the audio as it happened, apart from the muted name.

Have your agent make this call
If you use call4me, paste this into your agent:
Call Roku customer support at 816-272-8106, between 8 am and 10 pm Eastern. At the menu, press 2 for subscriptions, billing or my Roku account (if that doesn't reach a person, call back and press 4 for all other questions). When a person answers, tell them the email on my Roku account is [your email] and ask them to cancel my [subscription name] subscription billed through Roku, then confirm the date access ends. Don't pay any fee, don't agree to remote access, and don't make any other changes to my account.

[1:17 Caller presses 4.]
1:18 Roku: An agent will be with you shortly.
[1:21 Caller presses 2.]
1:25 Agent: Thank you for calling Roku. My name is [name removed]. How can I help you?
1:31 Caller: Hey. Yeah, I just had a few general questions about how your phone support works. Like, what hours are you open, and is this line staffed 24/7?
1:43 Agent: It's not 24/7. It's like 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Eastern Time.
1:54 Caller: Okay. And what's the fastest way to get to a live person if someone needs help? Is it through this phone menu or chat, or is there something else?
2:05 Agent: It's through the phone menu, okay? Dial the number. The number you just dialed is the number you dial if you want to speak to a live person.
2:16 Caller: Gotcha. Okay. And does Roku ever charge a fee just to activate a device or set up an account?
2:24 Agent: No, it's free, okay? Roku is free. You do not pay any service charge or anything. You only pay if you have a subscription that you subscribe to, okay?
2:37 Caller: Got it.
2:38 Agent: So once you get your device activated, you could go to the Roku channels or live channels or movies free. Just browse the home screen, okay? And for you to, you know, watch anything there free. But if you click an app, okay, and normally it tells you if you need to sign in, subscribe, then it's going to tell you how much the plans are. That's the only time, okay, to get, like, monthly charges. But Roku is free.
3:22 Caller: Right. Okay. And what should someone have ready before calling you? Like, do they need the serial number or Roku account email or anything like that?
3:34 Agent: The email. Accounts are, you know, registered or signed in using an email address.
3:51 Agent: Do you have a Roku account? Or do you have, like, a TV you would like me to activate for you?
3:58 Caller: No.
3:59 Agent: How can I help you?
4:01 Caller: No, I'm just asking in general. And one more thing. How does someone cancel a subscription that's billed through Roku, and can that be done over the phone?
4:16 Agent: Okay, you call us. Let us know what subscription you would like to get canceled, then we'll cancel the subscription for you. That's also depending on the subscription. Because there are, like, subscriptions like Hulu or Disney+, which Hulu themselves and Disney+ has the option to cancel. It's not... Roku doesn't have the options to cancel. We just, like, kind of bill them, but we don't have the option of canceling or refunding.
4:55 Agent: But if it's not, you know, Disney or Hulu, we would be helping you to cancel the subscription. Do you have a subscription you would like to cancel, or anything that I can help you with?
5:08 Caller: No, yeah, just asking. One last thing. Does Roku ever call customers back or call people out of the blue?
5:19 Agent: No, no, we don't, okay? We only call if there's, like, a technical issue or a billing issue, and the customer needs to be informed, okay? But Roku calling customers, we don't normally do that, okay?
5:37 Caller: Okay. That's really helpful. Thanks a lot. Bye.
5:42 Agent: By the way, who am I speaking with?
[The call ends here. Our caller hung up.]
