Uber customer service number: what happens when you call

Uber says it doesn't offer a customer service number for riders, but its help center does list a premium support line. We called it and a second rider line on Uber's site. Neither got us to a person. Here's what each one says, what Uber's help pages say instead, and the recording.

The short answer: Uber's main rider help page says "While we don't offer a customer service number for Uber riders," and sends you to log in for help instead. The one rider support number in Uber's help center is 1-800-314-2308, the "Call premium support" button on Uber's Reach out to support page. That page says: "Our support team is here to help our most dedicated riders, 24 hours a day," and "When you call, you'll need to confirm the phone number that's connected to your Uber account."

We didn't reach a person. The line's first and only prompt asks for the 10-digit phone number on your Uber account, followed by the pound key. We don't have an Uber account to give it. After three entries it didn't recognize, it said "For security reasons, we'll unfortunately need to end this call" and hung up, 1 minute in. There was no menu, no option for a representative, and no callback offer before that.

A second number on Uber's help center, +1 833-315-8991 on its Report rider inquiries page, turned out to be a line "for riders in the state of Colorado". Everyone else is told to use the help center in the app.

Both lines end the same way: "Please contact our support team through the help section of your app."

We called on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at about 1:10 pm Eastern, with call4me placing the calls. This page is what we heard. We never got to ask our questions about hours, callbacks, lost items or refunds, so what we say below about lost items comes from Uber's own help pages, not from the calls.

Uber 1-800-314-2308, what happens when you call: it asks for the phone number on your Uber account

Listen to the call

The premium support call, the whole thing, 1 minute 3 seconds. Nothing is muted or cut. Key presses don't show up in the recording.

Jump to a moment:

The Uber premium support line, step by step

This is the line as it played on October 22, 2026, calling 1-800-314-2308.

  1. Call 1-800-314-2308. "Hello. Thank you for calling Uber's dedicated premium support line." No language menu and no recording notice played before the next prompt.
  2. "Please enter the 10-digit phone number associated with your Uber account, followed by the pound key." This is the only prompt. Enter the phone number on your Uber account and press #. Uber's help page says to do this "manually" if you're calling from a different phone than the one on your account.
  3. If it doesn't recognize the number: "We didn't recognize that entry. Please try again," and the same prompt plays again.
  4. After the third miss, "There have been too many invalid entries. For security reasons, we'll unfortunately need to end this call. Please contact our support team through the Help section of your app. Goodbye." It hangs up.

We don't know what happens after a phone number that Uber does recognize, or whether the line checks that your account counts as one of its "most dedicated riders". Our call never got past step 2.

The Colorado rider line

Uber's "Report rider inquiries" page says "You can let us know about any rider inquiries by calling +1 833-315-8991." We called it two minutes after the premium line. The whole call was 48 seconds:

  1. "Thank you for calling Uber Support. This line is for riders in the state of Colorado. If you are not located in Colorado, please reach out to our general support team via the Help Center in the app."
  2. A recording notice: "this call will be recorded for quality and training purposes."
  3. "If you are a rider and a Colorado resident, press 1. Otherwise, press 2." We aren't in Colorado, so our caller didn't choose 1.
  4. "This line is currently only available for riders in Colorado." It added that drivers should use "Contact Support" in the Uber Driver app ("chat, phone, or email"), and "We are no longer accepting driver calls at this number. Goodbye." Then it hung up.

We don't know what's behind option 1.

What to have ready

Things that don't work

On October 22, 2026:

Lost an item in an Uber, or charged the wrong amount?

We meant to ask a person about both and couldn't. Here's what Uber's help pages say.

A lost item: Uber's lost item page has you call the driver from the app: "Tap on Activity at the bottom of your Uber App", "Select the trip on which you lost your item", "Tap on Find Lost Item", "Tap on I need to contact my driver about a lost item", enter your contact number, and "Tap on Call". If you can't reach the driver, it says to "raise a concern through the in-app Help section with the correct trip in reference."

A wrong charge or a refund: we didn't find a phone route for this. Both lines we called point you to the help section of the app, which is where Uber handles trip issues.

How we made these recordings

call4me is a phone for your AI agent: your agent (Claude Code, Codex, ChatGPT) tells it what to get done and it makes the call. For these, the brief was to reach a live Uber support person with general questions for this guide (the fastest way to a person, hours, what to have ready, callbacks, a lost item, and a refund for a wrong charge), with no trip or account to give.

A few things to know about our side of the calls:

We kept both recordings as they happened. Nothing is muted.

For phone trees where we did reach a person, see the other companies we've called.

Have your agent make this call

If you use call4me, paste this into your agent:

Call Uber premium support at 1-800-314-2308. When it asks for the 10-digit phone number on my Uber account, ring me so I can enter it myself, then press #. If a person picks up, tell them [your question, for example the trip on (date) I was charged (amount) for]. Don't give out my card number or password, and don't agree to any change on the account. If the line ends the call or only points to the app, write down exactly what it says and hang up.
