Bonner Springs YMCA swim lessons: Saturday times, cost and how to register
A real call to the Bonner Springs Family YMCA asked about Saturday morning preschool swim lessons for a non-member child. Here is what staff said, and the full recording.
The Bonner Springs Family YMCA is at 2251 South 138th Street, Bonner Springs, Kansas 66012, and its phone number is 913-422-9348. That is the number listed on the YMCA of Greater Kansas City's official Bonner Springs page, and it is the number our call dialed. A staff member answered the call directly, with no phone menu.
On October 15, 2026, a call4me customer's assistant called the Bonner Springs YMCA to ask about Saturday morning swim lessons for a young child who is not a YMCA member. Staff said:
- Saturday morning preschool swim lessons run at 9:00 AM or 9:45 AM, depending on the child's swim level.
- The current session starts "this Saturday" and runs through November 7. A new session starts every month.
- The non-member cost is $60.
- You can register online, over the phone or in person.
- The September special (pay for 3 months, get the 4th free) has ended. It was "a September only promotion."
What the call established about Bonner Springs YMCA swim lessons
| Question | What staff said on October 15, 2026 |
|---|---|
| Saturday morning class times | Preschool lessons at 9:00 AM and 9:45 AM |
| Which time fits | Depends on the child's swim level |
| Fall session dates | Starts "this Saturday" and runs through November 7 |
| Later sessions | A new session starts every month |
| Non-member cost | $60 |
| How to register | Online, by phone or in person |
| September pay 3, get the 4th free special | No longer available; September only |
| Registration or payment | None made on this call |
The call was on a Thursday, so "this Saturday" most likely means Saturday, October 17, 2026. That date is our reading of the calendar, not something staff said out loud.
The YMCA's own Bonner Springs swim lessons page agrees on registration: "Registration is available online below, at the Welcome Center or by calling 913.422.9348." It lists preschool lessons for ages 3 to 5, with levels named after fish "from Shrimp to Shark," and says fees "vary by session."
What this call did not confirm
- Whether $60 covers one session or something else. The assistant asked about cost right after asking about session dates, so $60 most likely means one monthly session, but staff did not say "per session" in so many words.
- Which level, and so which of the two times, a given child belongs in. Staff said it depends on swim level. The YMCA's site links a level quiz.
- Open spots. Nobody checked whether the 9:00 or 9:45 class had room.
- Member pricing, class length, or what happens if you join partway through a session.
- Registration. The customer told the assistant not to sign up or pay, so nothing was booked.

Representative: Bonner Springs YMCA. This is [staff name muted], how can I help you
AI agent: Hey [staff name muted], I'm calling to ask about Saturday morning swim lessons for a [child's age muted] who's not a member. What class times do you have for that?
Representative: Saturday mornings. [sigh] Um, it would depend on their level, um, of swim
AI agent: Mm-hmm.
Representative: Uh, what, what level they would be in. Saturday mornings, um, let's see. Preschool. There's 9 AM, 9:45, and uh, yeah, 9 AM and 9:45
AI agent: Great.
Representative: Um, just depending on what level they are
AI agent: Right. And when does the fall session start and end?
Representative: So these just started, well these, yeah, these just started. Their first session would be this first, this Saturday, and that would go through November 7th. And then another session would start after that. So we have, um, every month we have a new session that starts
AI agent: Okay. Yeah. And what's the non-member cost for that?
Representative: Sixty dollars
AI agent: Okay, got it. And what's needed to register? Like, can that be done by phone, or do they have to come in or use the website?
Representative: [False starts] Any of those. Um, you can, uh, sign up over online, you can sign up over the phone, or in person
AI agent: Great. And hey, uh, your voicemail mentioned a September special where if you pay for 3 months you get the fourth free. Is that still available?
Representative: It is not, no, that was a September only promotion
AI agent: Sure. All right. Thanks. That's everything I needed. I appreciate your help.
Representative: Okay. Of course. Have a good day
AI agent: You too. Bye.
Representative: Bye-bye
Why the questions were set up this way
The customer gave the assistant five questions up front: class times, session dates, the non-member price, how to register, and whether a promotion from the YMCA's voicemail still applied. The assistant asked each one in order and got a direct answer to every one, in under two minutes.
It also had a firm limit: find out, but don't register or pay. That kept the call to information gathering, so the parent could pick a time and register themselves. If you want the assistant to register for you, say so, and expect staff to ask for the child's details and a payment method, which you would need to hand over first.
Asking about the voicemail special was worth it. The customer had heard about the deal on the YMCA's voicemail, and the only way to learn it had ended was to ask.
