A Mandarin availability check, Saturday suggested and time unconfirmed

For a Mandarin phone call about scheduling, tell your assistant which language to use, the meeting date and time, and whether it may agree to a change. If the participants are in different cities, include both local times in the brief.

If your personal assistant already helps coordinate your day, call4me lets it place the call in Mandarin and bring the answer back to the conversation. Connect through the Claude Code guide or Codex guide. This is a suggested workflow, not evidence that the customer used either client. The example is an assistant speaking for the customer, rather than live interpretation of a call the customer joined.

On October 6, 2026, a call4me customer's AI assistant spoke Mandarin to check whether a meeting still worked that day. The proposed time was 1:30 PM in Houston, corresponding to 11:30 AM in Los Angeles on that date.

The recipient said the original time was inconvenient and suggested Saturday. The assistant said it would pass that suggestion along and have the customer confirm the details. No replacement time was agreed. The useful result was an availability answer and a proposed day for a later conversation.

The complete recording lasts 45 seconds.

0:01 Representative: Hello.

0:02 AI agent: Hello, [contact name and adjacent word fragments removed]? I [customer name and adjacent word fragments removed] assistant. I wanted to check whether today's meeting at 1:30 PM Houston time, which is 11:30 AM Los Angeles time, for your individual meeting [customer name and adjacent word fragments removed] still works for you.

0:17 Representative: It does not work for me.

0:19 AI agent: Mm, understood. When would you like to change it to?

0:24 Representative: Change it to... Sat... how about Saturday?

0:29 AI agent: Okay, I've noted that. I'll pass it along to [customer name removed] and have him confirm the specific time with you.

0:37 Representative: Okay, thank you.

0:38 AI agent: Okay, I won't keep you any longer. Goodbye.

0:42 Representative: Goodbye.

An availability check needs a different finish from a booking

The customer's instruction was to gather information. When the original time did not work, the assistant asked about an alternative, recorded the proposed day and left confirmation to the customer.

That distinction belongs in the result returned to your assistant. “Saturday suggested, exact time unconfirmed” gives you something useful to act on. “Meeting moved to Saturday” would overstate what the conversation established.

The call also demonstrates one concrete Mandarin exchange. It does not establish performance for every dialect, language, accent or type of scheduling conversation.

How to brief a call across languages and time zones

  1. Name the language you want used throughout the call.
  2. Give the exact date and the relevant local times.
  3. Explain whether the task is to check availability or confirm a booking.
  4. State which alternative days and hours are acceptable if changes are authorized.
  5. Ask for the person's answer and any unresolved details in the language you prefer for your summary.

If a recipient suggests only a day, keep the exact hour open in your calendar until someone confirms it. The same applies if the conversation leaves a time zone unclear.

Ask Claude Code or Codex to make a Mandarin call

Connect call4me with the Claude Code guide or Codex guide. The prompt below is a suggested workflow; the customer recording does not establish which client was used.

Use call4me to call [person] and speak Mandarin throughout. Ask whether our meeting on [date] at [time and time zone], which is [their local time], still works. This is an availability check only. If the time does not work, ask what day and time they suggest, but do not commit me to a replacement. Tell them I will confirm afterward. Return their answer in English and clearly separate any suggestion from a confirmed time.
