Tell your barber you are running late with your AI assistant
A short call told the barber that a customer was five minutes away. The barber acknowledged the update and said they would wait.
If you are running late to the barber, give the shop your appointment time and an honest estimate of when you will arrive. Ask them to acknowledge the update so you know someone received it.
This is a small task for the personal assistant you already use. call4me lets it call the barber and return their answer to your conversation. Connect with the Claude Code guide or Codex guide. These are suggested ways to repeat the task; the customer recording does not identify its client.
On October 5, 2026, a call4me customer's AI assistant called a barbershop about an existing 6:20 PM haircut and beard trim. The message was simple: the customer was on the way and about five minutes away, with thanks for waiting.
The barber acknowledged the message and said they would be waiting. This was an arrival update. The caller did not create a new appointment, change the service or negotiate a different time.

Five minutes away is an arrival estimate #
The customer gave the assistant a narrow task with enough detail for the shop to recognize the booking. The appointment time and service identified which customer was coming, and the travel estimate explained what to expect next.
“Five minutes away” and “five minutes late” are not interchangeable. The first is an estimate from the moment of the call. The second compares arrival with the booked time. A caller should pass along the estimate the customer actually supplied rather than quietly convert it into a different claim.
The barber's reply establishes that the update was received and accepted in this conversation. It does not establish when the customer eventually arrived or whether the haircut was completed.
What to give your assistant #
There is no grace period established by this recording. If you are late to a haircut appointment, ask your own shop whether it can still accommodate you. One barber agreeing to wait does not establish another shop's policy.
- The barbershop and the name on the existing booking.
- The appointment time and service, so staff can identify it.
- Your current arrival estimate in plain language.
- Instructions to pass along the update and ask whether the plan still works.
- A clear boundary if you do not want the assistant to cancel, rebook or accept a fee.
If the shop says it can no longer fit you in, have the assistant bring back the available options. A brief arrival message does not need to become a new booking without your instruction.
Send the update from your existing assistant #
Connect call4me through the Claude Code guide or Codex guide. The following prompt is a suggested workflow for either assistant. This recording does not identify the client the customer used.
Use call4me to call my barbershop. I have an existing [time] appointment under [name] for [service]. Tell them I am on my way and about [number] minutes away. Thank them for waiting and ask whether that still works. This is only an arrival update. Do not create a new appointment or cancel the existing one. Return their response.
