Walmart oil change prices: have your AI agent check locally
Check the published menu, then ask your AI assistant to confirm the total for your car. Our real calls show why the source of a quote matters.

Walmart lists oil changes starting at $28.88 for Pit Crew conventional service and $72.88 for full synthetic service. Those are published menu prices checked October 7, 2026, not a final quote for your car. See Walmart's oil change menu.
We used call4me to call three Walmart locations about oil changes. Two could not connect us to an associate. The third connected us to Walmart's AI customer care agent, which gave a synthetic price that differed from the website. We reached no human and booked no service.
That leaves a useful task for your own assistant: gather the starting prices, ask a local employee what your vehicle actually needs, and return the total and available times before you drive over.

The official menu includes up to five quarts, an oil filter and applicable chassis lubrication. Additional oil and some oil selections cost extra. Prices can vary by location. The Pit Crew listing does not promise the courtesy service bundle shown for several other packages.
Treat this table as the starting point for a conversation. Ask for the package name beside the amount so your assistant can compare equivalent services.
Give your AI agent the local price check #
If you already use an AI assistant to research car maintenance, let it make the calls too. Connect call4me's calling tools using the Claude Code setup or Codex setup, then paste this task with your details:
Find Walmart Auto Care Centers near [city or ZIP code] for an oil change on my [year, make, model and engine]. My owner's manual specifies [oil specification, or ask me if missing]. Check the published menu, then use call4me to call up to [number] locations. Ask a local employee which package applies, the total including the required oil quantity, filter, taxes and any fees, and the earliest available appointment. Ask whether they can accept a walk in on [day and time] and what wait to expect. Return each location, price, source, date and unanswered questions in a table. Give your agent the engine details you know. If it needs information you do not have, have it ask you instead of choosing a vehicle configuration. You can also set a maximum number of calls and a time limit so a simple price check stays bounded.
What happened when our agent called Walmart? #
All three attempts took place on October 7, 2026:

The Ohio phone AI said conventional service started at $28.88 and full synthetic at $58.88. The latter differs from the $72.88 website listing above. We did not establish whether that reflects a local price, a different package or outdated information. Neither our caller nor a local employee resolved the difference.
This is why an assistant's report should preserve its sources. “The phone AI said $58.88” is an accurate account of the call. “The Fremont shop confirmed my car costs $58.88” would go beyond the evidence.
Do you need an appointment? #
Walmart provides an online oil change scheduler. We did not check a live slot or make a reservation.
Ask your agent to check availability for the actual day you plan to visit. Our phone AI made a broad claim about walk in acceptance across locations, but no employee confirmed a cutoff or available capacity. We would not use that answer to plan a late arrival.
Once your assistant returns its comparison, choose the location and provide a separate booking instruction with your acceptable total and times.
