Wheel alignment cost, ask your AI agent to compare local quotes

Wheel Works at 1499 Franklin Street in San Francisco quoted a starting wheel alignment cost of $129.99 on October 7, 2026. Its lifetime option was about $210. The representative said they check the suspension during alignment, accept walk ins and usually need one to two hours, depending on the vehicle's condition.

That is a dated quote from one shop. We asked general pricing questions with call4me, without specifying a vehicle or booking work. Taxes, extra repairs and a final total were not established. A second inquiry to Firestone on Mission Street stayed on hold and produced no quote.

Have your AI agent compare wheel alignment prices

Your assistant can turn a maintenance reminder into a short list of shops with prices and availability. Start with published information, then have it call about the details needed to choose. Connect call4me using the Claude Code guide or Codex guide, then give the assistant this task:

Compare wheel alignment options near [city or ZIP code] for my [year, make, model and any suspension modifications]. Check official shop websites first, then use call4me to call up to [number] shops for missing details. Ask for the total estimate including taxes and fees, which wheels and adjustments it covers, whether a suspension inspection and alignment printout are included, and what could cost extra. Compare standard and lifetime options with their written warranty conditions. Ask about appointments on [dates], walk in waits and dropoff options. Return a table with the shop, quote date, source, price, coverage, availability and unanswered questions. Do not book, pay or authorize repairs yet.

The useful result is a comparison for your vehicle and schedule. Ask the assistant to keep an unanswered call in the table instead of filling its price from a different branch. After choosing a shop, give it a separate booking instruction with the dates and spending limit you accept.

What did the alignment quote include?

Our call reached a person at the Franklin Street shop after several minutes on hold. Here is what they told us:

Question Answer on our call What still needs checking
Standard alignment price Starts at $129.99 Total for your vehicle, including taxes and fees
Lifetime option About $210 Written conditions, exclusions and eligible vehicles
Inspection Staff double check the suspension Whether any needed repair has a separate charge
Appointment Optional; walk ins accepted Current queue and an actual appointment slot
Time required Roughly one to two hours Dropoff to pickup time on your chosen day

The employee described a year of free realignments with the standard option. Wheel Works' written service page specifies a 12 month or 12,000 mile limited warranty and directs customers to the written terms. Use those conditions when comparing coverage; the informal phone answer does not remove the mileage limit.

The same page describes steering and suspension checks, readings before and after service, and adjustments to the manufacturer's specifications. Those details come from the website. On the call, we specifically confirmed only the suspension check.

Is lifetime alignment worth the extra cost?

Ask your assistant to compare the two offers against how long you expect to keep the car and the shop's actual terms. The Franklin Street employee described lifetime coverage as repeat alignments for as long as you own the vehicle. They put the difference at about $80.

A useful followup is: which future visits would be covered, and what would still be charged separately? Ask about inspection requirements, exclusions, modifications, participating locations and transferability before assigning value to a lifetime plan. Our inquiry did not settle those terms.

Keep repairs separate from alignment coverage. A suspension check is not a promise that replacement parts or labor are included. Have the assistant request a separate estimate for any recommended work and bring it back for your approval.

Does the price cover two wheels or four wheels?

Our call did not establish that distinction. The representative called it a standard alignment. We cannot label the $129.99 quote as a confirmed four wheel price or assume it fits every car.

Give the shop your vehicle details and ask which measurements and adjustments the quote covers. If two shops describe their packages differently, ask your agent to resolve the difference before ranking them by price. Wheel Works' online pricing form asks for vehicle information and ZIP code, which is a useful starting point for a more specific inquiry.

How long does a wheel alignment take, and can you walk in?

The Franklin Street employee estimated one to two hours, depending on how far out of alignment the vehicle is. They said an appointment was not required, although one could be scheduled. We did not reserve a time or confirm the queue for a particular arrival.

Have your agent ask for the expected time from dropoff to pickup, rather than treating a service estimate as your entire wait. Include whether you can leave the car and the latest pickup time that works for you. Find the branch through the official San Francisco directory, which lists the Franklin Street number as (415) 614 4308.

If you are combining errands, give the same assistant the Walmart oil change price guide or Les Schwab oil change guide. Ask for separate estimates for each service so a combined quote stays understandable.

Listen to the Wheel Works alignment quote

The full recording lasts 6 minutes 15 seconds, including the hold. The pricing answer starts around 4 minutes 58 seconds. Original timing and voices are preserved. This was an informational inquiry; no service was booked or performed.

Read the pricing and service transcript excerpts

These excerpts cover the answers after the hold, with approximate timestamps. They were checked against independent automatic transcriptions of the source recording and export. No human listening verification is claimed. The full audio also contains the shop greeting and hold advertisements.

4:58 Representative: So, our starting alignment is $129.99. It does come with a full year warranty, so you are able to bring it back to us or any other Wheel Works, Firestone, or Bridgestone to realign it for free for a full year.

5:10 Representative: And then we offer a lifetime warranty for the alignment as well. It's about an $80 difference compared to the one year. And that one you can come as many times as needed for free for as long as you own the vehicle. And that's $210.

5:26 Call4me: Oh, great. That makes sense. And is the alignment just an adjustment or does it include things like checking suspension or any extra parts?

5:36 Representative: When we do the alignment, we double check the suspension as well.

5:40 Call4me: Awesome, thanks. And do you need an appointment for that? And what's the usual time it takes?

5:48 Representative: No appointment needed necessary. We do schedule them if you do, if you did want to make them. I'm sorry, and it takes anywhere from maybe one to two hours. Just depends on how out the vehicle is. If it's not so out, then it would take a little less time.

The written warranty qualification is explained above. The quoted answers do not establish taxes, fees or the price of extra repairs.
