Farmacia Luma Viejo San Juan: checking a prescription by phone
A call4me customer's assistant called the pharmacy counter at Farmacia Luma in Old San Juan, in Spanish. In under two minutes staff confirmed the prescription had arrived, said it was ready, quoted $1 without insurance and gave the recetario hours.
Farmacia Luma is at Calle San Francisco 255 in Viejo San Juan, Puerto Rico, and its pharmacy counter answers (787) 722-0335. Staff picked up with "Buenos días, recetario Luma" on October 15, 2026. The recetario (prescription counter) is open Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:45 PM, according to the pharmacist who answered.
Where that number comes from: the pharmacy's Facebook page gives the address as Calle San Francisco 255, and the federal NPI registry record for Farmacia Luma lists 787-722-0335 at 255 Calle de San Francisco. The pharmacy's own domain, farmacialuma.com, redirected to a page that did not load when we checked on October 17, 2026, so we could not confirm the number on a Farmacia Luma website. The call itself reached the Luma recetario.
On Thursday, October 15, 2026, at about 10:02 AM Puerto Rico time, a call4me customer's assistant called in Spanish to ask whether a prescription sent by the customer's doctor had arrived. Staff said yes, it was received and ready to pick up, and quoted $1 without insurance ("sin plan médico"). They also said the counter would run special hours the next day, Friday, October 16: 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

What the call did not confirm
- Whose prescription it was. The assistant named the medication and the customer, and staff said they had it. Nobody read back the patient's legal name, date of birth or the prescribing doctor. The customer's own brief listed those details, but the assistant never needed to give them.
- Weekend hours and store hours. The answer covered the recetario on weekdays and one special day. The assistant did not ask about Saturday or Sunday, or about hours for the rest of the store, which may differ.
- Why the hours changed. Staff called October 16 "un horario especial" without saying why. Treat it as a one-day change, not the regular schedule.
- Pickup requirements. ID, payment methods and whether someone else could collect it were not discussed.
- That the pickup happened. The recording ends with the call. It does not show the prescription being collected or the price being charged.
The $1 price is what staff said on October 15, 2026, for this one prescription without insurance. It is not a price list.
Listen to the call
The complete recording keeps its original voices and timing, about 16 seconds of trailing silence included. The assistant's name (which is the account owner's name), the customer's name, the medication and dose, and the pharmacist's first name are muted. Farmacia Luma stays named because the post is about this pharmacy.
The recording lasts 1 minute 54 seconds.

Calling Farmacia Luma about a prescription
This was a short call because the questions were specific and the order was sensible: did it arrive, is it ready, what does it cost without insurance, when can someone come. Each answer took one line.
A few things made it work, and a few are worth doing differently:
- Lead with the medication. Staff found the prescription from the medication and the customer's name alone. Have the patient's legal name and date of birth ready anyway, in case the counter needs them.
- Ask for the cash price explicitly. "Sin plan médico" got a direct number. If you have insurance, say so, since the copay may differ.
- Ask about the day you will actually go. The regular hours were not the whole answer: the next day had special hours. If you plan a Saturday pickup, ask about Saturday.
- Confirm in one sentence before hanging up. The assistant repeated the four answers back, and staff said "Correcto".
If a prescription is sitting at a different pharmacy, see how to transfer a prescription. For another Spanish call to a San Juan business, see the CO2 tank exchange in San Juan.
Ask your assistant to check a prescription
